In this rare surviving two-reeler for Edmund Cobb's Universal series, the taciturn star plays Constable Collins, a Northwest Mounted police officer assigned to help pretty Rose Foster (Helen Foster) and her brother, Jack (Newton House), who are in trouble with a gang of claim jumpers. Unbeknownst to Rose, the gang is headed by Jim Murdock, whom the girl considers her only friend. Collins, who pretends to be a drifter, immediately becomes suspicious of Murdock's motives and the villain strikes back by having Rose kidnapped. There is a climactic fight in an abandoned shack in the wilderness but young Jack arrives in the nick of time with the Mounties.

California cowpuncher Jim Kern and his pal enlist in the war against Germany and, shortly thereafter, meet Frank Akuri, who has pledged to colonize the United States for his homeland, Japan. While Jim and other white males are fighting in France, Akuri forces Jim's sweetheart Mary to sell her ranch, as she is not able to run it because the only men left, the Japanese, have pledged not to work for the whites. With the ranch, Akuri begins his colony. Mary counters by organizing her society women friends to appeal to Congress against the "yellow menace." When it seems that his plans will be thwarted, Akuri issues orders for the death of Mary and her friends, but Jim and his pal return and rescue them. Akuri then kidnaps Mary and takes her to his apartment, but with the help of Akuri's wronged Japanese lover, Jim learns her whereabouts. He organizes a posse of American Legion locals and rescues Mary just as Akuri is about to murder her. Akuri's group is routed out.

Mary will have nothing to do with Ned, even after Ned saves her life during a cattle stampede. Ned finally runs down the rustlers, and Mary sees him as a hero instead of merely putting him in her novel.
Lieutenant Crane of the U. S. Cavalry is assigned to clean up and bring law and order to a frontier town and area ruled by a gang of cattle rustlers. His only help is Molly Graham and her brother, Jim who run the town newspaper after their father was murdered by the outlaws.
